SPA FAQ'S
Q: Will I look overly "manscaped" or too "groomed"
if I try the MEN'S BODY GROOMING treatment?
A: All options are thoroughly discussed and you will, of course,
have the final decision. With our body grooming, we always strive
to achieve a natural look without being too "done." Your
therapist will discuss your choices and you both can agree on how
much sugaring will be done and just how much hair is sheared or shaved.
Above all, we want you to be pleased and leave with the look you have
always wanted.
Q: Will I break out after the body sugaring?
A: If one hair is removed from your body, you risk the chance
of an adverse reaction or ingrown hair. In our years of experience,
we have developed our own maintenance regime which has proven to
significantly reduce the problems often associated with hair removal.
This is what separates us from other salons/spas when it comes to
hair removal. Most all other places simply wax a particular body
part for a price and send you on your way. We concentrate on helping
you maintain your
new look with products specifically designed to address any possible
problems and help keep you looking your best. We have found that
the vast majority of clients that take our suggestions and follow
our at home maintenance program experience minimal, if any, problems.
Q: Why should I exfoliate my skin and use the products included
in the Downtime Skin Survival Kit?
A: Ingrown hairs are primarily caused by dead skins cells covering
the hair follicle and thus preventing the hair from being able to
grow out properly. An infant has the ability to regenerate its skin
cells from head to toe in less than 30 days. Adults wake daily with
dead skin cells on our bodies and our ability to regenerate new
skin slows as we age. Because we have more dead skin cells on our
body as we get older, we have more of a risk of ingrown hairs. As
stated before, any type of hair removal produces a risk of ingrowns
as the hair grows back. To avoid ingrown hairs, it is imperative
to keep the skin properly exfoliated so the hair grows up and out
of the hair follicle and is not blocked by these dead skins cells.
Following these simple steps
can significantly reduce and avoid problems.
Q: Do you have shower facilities at Downtime?
A: Yes, and we encourage you to use our facilities and make
yourself totally and completely at home.
Q: What if I am unsure about the MENS BODY GROOMING treatment
and have questions?
A: The best solution would be to call and schedule a consultation
appointment. During the consultation, we can perform a "patch
test" so you can see and feel the results. Also, by seeing
your body and the hair, we can provide much more definitive and
specific information regarding what results can be expected. It
also gives you the opportunity to see our facilities and meet our
therapists.
Q: What is the appointment cancellation policy at Downtime?
A: We understand that sometimes our busy lives require us to
reschedule things and make changes in our day. What we ask is that
you give us only six hours advance notice if you need to cancel
or change your appointment. If we do not receive the six hour advance
notice, your credit card will be charged 50% of the purchase price
of the service you booked for that time slot. A "no show"
(meaning a booked appointment for which you do not show up) will
result in the full purchase price of the service being charged to
your credit card. By giving us your credit card number in advance
either when you register on the website or when you give us the
number over the phone, you are signifying that you agree and will
abide by our cancellation/change
policy.
Q: Is there any sexual contact with the therapist in treatment
during the scheduled appointment?
A: No, there is no sexual contact of any kind.
