"I've been spoiled by the team @ Downtime for several years now, having first been to their original location years ago. Greg first introduced me to the art of sugaring when I lived in the city. I travel the world for work, and in the constant pursuit of the sun.. I always make sure that Downtime is part of my itinerary when I'm in NYC. Over the years I've had several of the amazing staff work on me - from massage, body scrubs, wraps - every service has been flawless..Greg also keeps me updated on their array of products - and of course, Skinceuticals is one of my faves. I've referred several friends and colleagues and all have had 'glowing' reviews. Actually, its time for my next sugaring..."

Greg's career has been dedicated to helping people understand and meet their bodies' needs, first as a professional chef for ten years and subsequently as a massage therapist and esthetician. He is accomplished in numerous massage techniques, including Shiatsu, sports and Swedish massage. Additionally, he is certified in Thai massage by the Traditional Medicinal Hospital of Thailand.

Greg has been trained by top-tier cosmetology companies - such as La Prairie, Sugar of the Nile and SkinCeuticals - to use and administer their products. He achieved his Licensed Esthetician certification through The Aveda Institute.

As a chef, Greg's credits include the Ritz in London, Moomba NYC and a stint as a private chef to the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch.

A California native, Greg has made New York City his base of operations for 17 years.

At the age of eighteen, Greg moved to London, moving in with a Turkish family who were boiling sugar, refining it into the paste used for centuries for hair removal. Within a few years, Greg began studying under renowned pastry chef Ewald Notter, who taught him to spin and pull sugar. Combining these two experiences, Greg opened Downtime Massage & Skincare.

“The work that we do is just one way - and an important one - for people to fill up their own cups.”
